Aircon Servicing Cost in Singapore 2026: Honest Pricing Breakdown
Aircon shops in Singapore advertise "$16 per unit!" promos and then somehow your invoice comes out to $250. Here's what aircon services actually cost in 2026, broken down honestly so you can compare quotes apples to apples.
General Servicing — $60 to $180 per visit
Qair's general servicing pricing (per visit, all units serviced):
- 1 unit — $60
- 2 units — $80 ($40 each)
- 3 units — $105
- 4 units — $120
- 5 units — $150
- 6 units — $180
Beyond 6 units, add $30 per extra unit. Includes filter wash, front cover wipe, fan coil + blower wipe, drain check, cooling test. ~25–35 min per unit. (Optional blower dismantle +$30 per FCU on some brands.)
Watch out for: Shops advertising "$25 per unit" usually do 10-minute filter swap, not actual servicing. The price difference reflects the time difference.
Annual Servicing Contract — from $200/year (4 visits)
If you'd rather not rebook every quarter, an annual contract bundles 4 services over 12 months at a lower per-visit rate than ad-hoc:
- 1 unit — $200/year ($50/visit)
- 2 units — $280/year ($70/visit)
- 3 units — $360/year ($90/visit)
- 4 units — $400/year ($100/visit)
- 5 units — $500/year ($125/visit)
- 6 units — $600/year ($150/visit)
You're serviced every 3 months and we track the schedule for you. Pay annually up-front or per visit.
Chemical Wash — $80 to $150 per unit (market)
A mid-tier deep clean without full dismantling. Across the market, most shops charge $80–$120 per unit, premium up to $150. Qair keeps it simple with two tiers — routine General Servicing for regular upkeep, and a full Chemical Overhaul (below) when a unit really needs it. We'll tell you honestly which one your unit actually needs.
Chemical Overhaul — from $150
The deepest clean: full dismantle of the indoor unit (FCU) from the wall, soak, scrub, reinstall and test. Qair pricing (price drops per unit the more you do):
15,000 BTU & below:
- 1 unit — $150 · 2 units — $260 ($130 ea) · 3 units — $360 ($120 ea)
- 4 units — $480 · 5 units — $600 · 6 units — $720 (all $120 ea)
18,000 BTU & above:
- 1 unit — $150 · 2 units — $280 ($140 ea) · 3 units — $420 ($140 ea) · 4 units — $560 ($140 ea)
Gas Top-Up — $60 to $150 at Qair
Qair pricing (per unit, depends on the amount needed):
- R22 & R410A — $60–$120 per unit
- R32 (newer systems) — $80–$150 per unit
We pressure-test / leak-check first, so you're not just topping up a leak that'll empty again in a few months. If a shop quotes "$50 gas top-up" without testing for leaks, you'll be back paying again. See our gas top-up guide.
Repair / Diagnostic — from $30
Honest aircon repair = diagnose first, quote second, fix only after you approve. Qair charges $30 minimum callout for residential diagnostics. Quote for actual repair is given after we identify the issue — you can decline. If we can't fix it, only the callout applies.
Installation — Quoted on-site
BTO / new install / replacement / system upgrade — done on per-job basis. Indicative ranges:
- System 2 Mitsubishi Starmex: ~$2,000–$2,800
- System 3 Mitsubishi Starmex: ~$2,800–$3,800
- System 4 Daikin iSmile: ~$3,800–$4,800
See our BTO install guide for full breakdown.
Home Assessment — from $30
Not sure what you need? Book a home assessment. A specialist comes, inspects, gives honest diagnosis + recommendation + quote. $30 callout, no obligation to proceed. We'll tell you the cheapest fix that actually works.
What you should NEVER pay extra for
- "Inspection fee" before a quote — diagnostic is part of the service
- "Material surcharge" for basic chemicals — included in service price
- "Weekend rates" for residential — most legitimate shops don't charge this
- "Deposit" for servicing or chemical wash — only installation needs one
If a shop tries to slip these in, walk away.
Frequently asked questions
Is Qair more expensive than budget aircon shops?
Yes — slightly. We're priced in the middle market, not the bottom. The $25/unit shops cut corners on cleaning depth and product quality. We've spent 34 years building a reputation we won't risk to win a $5 race.
Do you charge GST?
No — Qair Engineering is currently not GST-registered (our turnover is below the SGD 1M threshold). The price you see is the price you pay.
Why no deposit at Qair?
Because we trust ourselves to do the job right. Customers pay after the work is done, by PayNow or cash. Installation is the only exception — deposit is required after both sides agree on the quote, since we're committing to ordering specific units.
